We just got back from our tour of the U.S. We had a wonderful trip, performing in several cities and recording a bunch of great radio sessions along the way.
Arriving in the U.S just over two weeks before the new administration comes into power, made the trip a fascinating glimpse into the current American socio-political psyche and the tension and apprehension amongst the people we met was palpable.
There’s no doubt that people are worried and scared but as we travelled across the country, we also witnessed a tremendous desire to resist and to regroup.
I was also incredibly touched by how well, the ‘I Dreamed An Island’ message was received and how each night, ‘Bring Down The Wall’ was sung by the whole crowd with such intense passion. There’s definitely a political earthquake coming and America is at its epicentre but Europe isn’t safe from the aftershock either and this was the context for much of the dialogue both in concert.
